In a funny way this is all because of my amazing book club. As I had stated before we read the book called "The Happiness Project." So, we were having our monthly meeting this week speaking out the book. It was interesting how each of us where affected by the book. We where talking about what would really make us happy and a story came up about something that was going to be one of the best things to happen to me but fell through. Basically three short story is that I had the opportunity to go with my parents and sister on a Mediterranean cruise through Italy, Greece, Turkey and Croatia. I was PUMPED!!!I literally sat at the table as my parents told me this and cried. I have been wanting to go to Italy since I was about 11. I have always been so drawn to that country. Maybe in a past life I was Italian, who knows?! But I have wanted to go there for as long as I can remember. So with the discovery that I could go I was beyond excited. Then a few days later it all changed and I was no longer able to go.
I was totally crushed. I couldn't believe that something I wanted was so close in my grasps and slipped away. Then book club happened! After letting my sob story one of the lovely Spinebreaker Ladies simply replied "Well why don't you just go when your parents are there? You can do the touring around with them before and then when they cruise you can just rome around Italy yourself?" I was blown away! Why had I never thought of that?
The next day I went and approached my parents with the idea. Would they be okay with me crashing their holiday? They both knew how crushed I was when I couldn't go. Hopefully they would understand, right? Well when I told them my new crazy idea they were both THRILLED. They loved it! Both thought it was a great idea and it would be a lot of fun.
I couldn't believe it. I am so immensely happy that I get to go now. So, I am officially booked now to go to Italy August 3-18. (That's 15 days... Holy Moley!) I am so happy and thankful that a simple comment in book club seriously has changed my life so much. Who knew book club could change my life in such great ways. My happiness project is starting soon.
